Natural Hair Ingredient: Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar will keep the flakes away. It will also keep the build-up and itching away as well. Natural hair can be very delicate and break easily so keeping manipulation and maintenance to a minimum is very helpful in reducing breakage and thus maintaining growth. Applying an Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse in between wash days or after workouts is a great extend your wash days and manipulate your hair less.

Use 3 parts water to 1 part apple cider vinegar and pour the mixture generously onto your scalp, massaging the roots to cleanse. Be sure to rinse out with water. (This is not a leave-in!)

Apple cider vinegar is acidic. It has a pH of about 3. Wet hair has a pH of 4.5-5.5. If you add an acidic rinse like apple cider vinegar to the hair, it will further reduce the pH of your hair strands. Making your hair slightly more acidic will close the cuticles of the hair, making the layers lay down flat. This also has the effect of locking in moisture, add shine, and elasticity.
